Aneka is a formidable advocate bringing a decade of litigation experience to Jiwaji Law.  Aneka’s practice includes complex commercial and securities disputes, regulatory and administrative law matters, intellectual property enforcement, and tax-related litigation. She also has extensive experience in representing insurers and insureds in complex coverage and defence disputes, including director and officer liability, errors and omissions liability and products liability matters. Aneka represents companies, founders, directors, investors, and professionals in trials, appeals, judicial reviews, class proceedings, and urgent applications. Her focus is on complex disputes that require strategic analysis, strong advocacy, and an understanding of both business realities and regulatory frameworks.

Aneka’s litigation background spans several respected national and international firms, as well as, most recently, one of British Columbia’s leading commercial litigation boutiques. Aneka also brings direct regulatory insight to her securities litigation practice. Her previous role as Litigation Counsel - Enforcement at the British Columbia Securities Commission, along with her LLM in Securities Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, have provided her with deep experience in capital markets regulation, enforcement proceedings, and compliance oversight.

This exposure strengthens her ability to navigate disputes involving disclosure obligations, governance issues, and securities enforcement matters. Her combined experience in private practice and regulatory environments allows her to provide clients with effective litigation representation supported by a comprehensive appreciation of risk, compliance, and long-term strategy.

Aneka is passionate about the legal profession. In addition to being an active thought leadership writer on LinkedIn and for industry publications, she has been included on the “long list” of Canadian Lawyers Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers from 2023 to 2025  in the “changemakers” category. Aneka is an active member of the Advocates’ Society and has been a member of the faculty for the 14th and 15th Annual Securities Symposium on the topic of “Practice Before the Tribunal” and “Cryptocurrency: Promises and Pitfalls”. In 2025, Aneka was co-chair and a member of faculty for CLEBC’s Interim Remedies and Injunctions program. In 2024, Aneka was nominated through letters of recommendation by fellow Canadian Bar Association Members for the Canadian Bar Association BC Diversity and Equality Award. In 2025, Aneka was nominated by colleagues, at her then firm, through letters of recommendation for the VBA Peter S. Hyndman Mentorship Award, illustrating her deep commitment and passion for mentorship.
